On March 29th, the Los Angeles Business Journal hosted the very first in-person Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Symposium and Awards Show. Several members of HBC’s DEI Committee were in attendance, and HBC is proud to have been a sponsor of the event. Companies from all industries were represented from throughout Los Angeles.
The morning was filled with inspiring panels and guest speakers, exploring topics such as the business case of equity, building a diverse and multigenerational workforce, and the DEI journey. The broad swath of experience and expertise of the panelists painted a complete picture of where we are on the path to equity. The awards show followed, and it honored and celebrated the most inclusive individuals and businesses in Los Angeles.
Out of hundreds of applicants, HBC is honored to announce that we were selected as one of four finalists for “DEI Company of the Year” in the mid-size company category. This is an important milestone in HBC’s history as we continue to work towards a more inclusive company and industry for all.
