Howard Building Corporation is looking forward to an eventful night at the upcoming IIDA Calibre Design Awards. A total of eight HBC managed projects have been nominated for the prestigious awards which celebrate great design and recognize the hard work involved in bringing an innovative design to life. The winners will be announced at the 29th annual gala taking place on May 19th at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. HBC would also like to take this moment to congratulate and wish all nominees the best of luck.

Now located in the newest and highest quality office building in Pasadena,
Alibaba Pictures is the latest entertainment industry player to move away from
the hustle and bustle area of Hollywood. After signing a 10-year lease, the
highest-grossing Chinese film maker retained HBC as the general contractor to
build-out their 18,000-square foot office space. The HOK design
incorporated many elegant features such as finishes by BuzziGrid and Fitzfelt
as well as a blend of stone, reclaimed wood panels, and glass décor throughout.

Artissimo Designs is a leading manufacturer of high quality wall art and décor
located at Campus 2100 in El Segundo. This functional office and showroom
encompassed 17,000 square feet of creative renovations that brought the
traditional workplace to life. Design features included exposed ceilings,
pendant lighting, and a rustic, yet chic, wood reception desk.

The
large healthcare company was recently looking to revamp and expand their south
bay offices to accommodate 800+ employees and associates. DaVita was
successful in landing into two adjoining buildings which also happened to be
down the street from DaVita Kidney Care’s central office. The Wolcott
Architecture | Interiors designed space accomplishes a campus like feel with a
creative and collaborative environment.

project encompassed three floors and seamlessly transformed the client’s
residential vision into a commercial environment that promotes collaboration.
The Rapt Studio
concept vaunts designer fixtures and furniture through-and-through as well as a
crisp and artistic image that completely modernizes the space.

Multi-floor rebuild for a real
estate company in West Los Angeles. The Class A office space incorporated many
creative design features including exposed wood ribbon ceilings, intense
millwork, and a blend of sealed concrete flooring and carpeted areas. The
highlight of this workspace was the addition of an impressive interconnecting
steel and wood staircase.

This collaboration encompassed 112,000 square
feet across five floors at Constellation Place in Century City. The stellar
design included high-end features such as stylish wood paneling and Terrazzo
flooring as well as the addition of an intricate 5-floor interweaving
staircase. Outdoor terraces and windowed panoramas were installed
throughout the space providing an unobstructed 360-degree view of the LA area
with sights reaching as far as the San Gabriel Mountain range and Catalina
Island.

HBC teamed up with AkarStudios & NOAA Group to deliver this premium workspace for the private equity firm that focuses on real estate acquisitions in markets across the country. Stone flooring was placed in the lobby, open office areas featured suspended/floating acoustical panels, and the hallways were lit with repeating, recessed LED strips. High-end furniture and marble countertops throughout complete this vibrant and remarkable space.
