Smashbox Studios’ 25,000 square foot facility returns as the premier creative and event destination in Los Angeles, following a total facility renovation and partnership with Industrial Color Brands. The relationship with Industrial Color Brands combines 25 years of experience in pioneering photo, video and studio production and technology, bringing next-level service to the iconic space.
The legenday Smashbox Studios, founded in 1990 by Dean and Davis Factor, has been serving world-class photographers and iconic shoots since its inception. To continue the legacy and revolutionzie the studio experience, Smashbox Studios enlisted leading architectural design firm, Gensler, and general contractor, Howard Building Corporation, to create a unique studio experience.
The warm and welcoming space is designed to enhance the creation of remarkable work and to host important events, while always prioritizing the needs of its clients. The space anticipates photographer and client needs by providing full-service accommodations that include upgraded power service, a next generation studio technology platform, high-performance spaces with private amenities and a concierge-level crew.
“The mission of the Smashbox Studios’ re-design was to construct the ideal creative space with unparalleled client services,” said Steve Kalalian, CEO Smashbox Studios. “We implemented state-of-the-art studio technology and stocked the studio with the best gear and experienced team. It was also important to create a real center for the creative community. The facility’s campus-like design, social executions and internal event program is all about establishing Smashbox Studios as the industry’s studio. We want the community to feel at home.”
Major upgrades to the studio include additional power, full seismic upgrades, updated soundstages, internet and wireless networks throughout, custom designed makeup tables, modern AV systems, outdoor patios, a world-class café and beautiful interior and exteriors.
