Project Description

The award winning firm, Hughes Marino, offers tenant representation services in the Southern California commercial real estate industry. When the firm expanded operations to a new Orange County office, the primary goal for the space was to retain the family oriented atmosphere that had already become a defining aspect of their San Diego headquarters. They teamed with Gensler and Howard Building Corporation to deliver a space that expresses their core culture yet establishes their distinct presence in the Orange County market.

Located at 2 Park Plaza in Irvine's Jamboree Center, the 4,500 square foot, high-rise office space repeats some of the concepts found in San Diego, like the appointment of plush couches, a family-style farm table, a pool table, and a gourmet kitchen. Other noticeably unique features are the oil-rubbed oak floors, custom made decorative lighting fixtures, including a three-tier, pear-shaped chandelier over the billiards table and delicate, hand-blown, glass LED balls over the conference room's custom marble conference table. The kitchen's dark walnut cabinetry and iceberg marble countertops provide a visual balance to the sparkling light fixtures. Black framed glass partitions define the perimeter offices and give a nod to the San Diego office as well.

"It's a space that is engaging, elegant and fun, yet cozy enough for our team to feel like they're working from home",” Says Shay Hughes, COO of the firm. She adds that, given their expertise in exclusively representing tenants in office lease and purchases, as well as their in-house construction management service, “we know firsthand how much of an impact office space has on building a great team, creating culture, and shaping a company's future.
