Working with designers at IA, Howard Building Corporation constructed this multi-building tenant improvement relocation project encompassing 58,000 square feet of new office space in Irvine, CA. The DaVita leasehold included the entirety of a 48,000 square foot two-story building and half of the first floor of an adjacent building. In order to create synergy between the two buildings, the connecting exterior space went under a full renovation to include outdoor meeting and conference areas, an outdoor fountain, BBQ locations, serene walking paths and a great lawn for town-hall events. The complete demolition and remodel project touts upgraded lighting packages and HVAC controls, recycled barn-wood paneling, open-ceiling break rooms, and polished concrete floors. The scope also required new penetrations to the building in order to provide direct access to all the newly added areas. Completed in 16 weeks, the aggressive schedule was met through significant cooperation between the craftsmen and the designers and the space has received LEED® Gold certification.
