Project Description

Classical KUSC is the largest and most listened to public radio and non-profit classical music station in the country. Broadcasting for more than 60 years, the station sought to update its broadcasting capabilities and transition to digital transmission technology, allowing for uninterrupted classical performances. Klawiter & Associates teamed with Howard Building Corporation to build a 12,000 square foot space to accommodate these needs.

Located in the LEED Gold Certified AT&T Center, the new KUSC offices took their place in the first floor space, and in line with the station's commitment to sustainability, cork flooring and locally manufactured carpet were installed. The bulk of the work went into building the sound attenuated broadcasting studios below, requiring extensive electrical and mechanical coordination as well as specialized broadcasting equipment and technology installation.
