Quantum Technologies is a leader in the innovation, development and production of Hydrogen fuel storage systems and the integration of vehicle system technologies, including engine and vehicle control systems and drivetrains. The company provides low emission and fast-to-market products to support the integration and production of Hydrogen fuel and storage systems, hybrid, fuel cell, and specialty vehicles, as well as modular, transportable hydrogen refueling stations. Headquartered in Lake Forest, California, and with operations and affiliations in the United States, Canada, and India, the company is part of the growing movement toward clean energy and was selected as a CleanTech OC Company of the Year. Howard Building Corporation initially built out 40,000 square feet of manufacturing space for the company, including winding areas, new natural gas walk-in ovens, and blast pits, as well as installing all new mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems. Most recently, Howard Building Corporation constructed a new pre-fabricated, 7,500 square foot metal building designed by architects at Plump to house a pressure test facility for automotive Hydrogen tanks. Construction included four 7 foot deep reinforced concrete test pits with 2 inch thick steel plate lids. A segregated control booth was installed to monitor testing and operate the hydraulic system, which cycles the massive steel lids. The scope also included grading and preparation of the site, pouring of the slab, erection of the building, and, ultimately, the complete interior build out, along with new site electric gates, environmental Bio Swale and landscaping.
