Project Description

The Recording Academy, the organization that hosts the Grammy Awards each year, resides in a 65,000 square foot, three story space in Santa Monica. Architects at Wolcott designed the space to reflect the growing organization's commitment to both excellence within the music industry and their own organizational commitment to sustainability.

Oversized pivoting glass doors greet visitors at the entry to the space, and a waterfall feature stands before the reception desk, which is located in a two story atrium reception area. Polished concrete floors and wood veneer millwork give an industrial feeling to the space, while pristine soffits and recessed linear lights mounted vertically in feature walls create a futuristic feel in the space. Large scale vinyl graphics on glass front conference rooms remind visitors of the artistic endeavors of the organization.

The LEED Gold certified space encompasses executive offices, screening rooms, training rooms, conference areas, break rooms, open work areas, and perimeter offices. Modular wall systems at specific locations offer future flexibility for growth and reconfiguration as needed.
