Project Description
Howard Building Corporation teamed with Gensler to build CBRE's commercial real estate headquarters in Newport Beach. As a leader in the commercial real estate industry, CBRE sought a space that would create opportunities for communication and collaboration while utilizing advanced technology to achieve connectivity. The 71,000 square foot project reflects HBC's flawless attention to detail and an innovative approach to workplace construction, with an emphasis on sustainability.

The project includes two full floors in a prime Class A building in Newport Beach. Pristine white surfaces are punctuated by dark wood paneling that appears at important transition points throughout the space and is echoed in workstation finishes. The reception desk is finished in the same dark wood and directs visitors to the main conference area. A stainless steel and glass feature wall acts as the backdrop to reception and as a design element for the feature stairway that cuts through the structure to open the ceiling to the second floor above.

Conference rooms are equipped with the latest audio visual and teleconferencing technology and feature smaller adjoining break out areas for smaller group meetings. Hard lid ceilings create visual portals that define separate spaces, often creating more intimate spaces or signalling the entry to a meeting area. Acoustic tile ceilings are used in soffits and above work areas, and recessed lighting and feature pendant lights offer accents in areas such as the conference rooms, and direct/indirect pendants light work areas and offices.

Amenities include a large catering kitchen with bar seating that adjoins a lounge space where employees can meet and relax. The kitchen also supports a conference center and training rooms, and a game room offers space for activities and classes with lockers and showers available for all employees.

CBRE's Newport Beach office is LEED Gold certified.
