Project Description

Moss Adams is a national accounting firm with 24 offices in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Kansas, and Texas.  With alliances established through a global network of independent accounting firms, Moss Adams also serves more than 2,300 companies doing business in 97 countries around the world.  In the relocation of their Orange County office, the firm worked with architects at SAA and HBC to expand their office space to 35,000 square feet on two full floors of an Irvine office tower.

Extensive custom millwork throughout the space includes architectural wood veneer details at the reception desk, in the new elevator lobbies, and throughout the multiple conference rooms.  Additionally, the conference rooms feature floating credenzas, custom stone conference tables, and motorized privacy shades.  Hard lid ceilings with recessed lighting fixtures define the reception and conferencing spaces, with seating areas located under cove lit, recessed ceiling features.

A new internal staircase that connects the two floors required extensive demolition of the deck and new structural framing at the stairwell opening.  Veneered with ¾” walnut, the stairs continue the wood veneer prevalent in the lobby and reception area.  A training area on the bottom floor connects to an adjacent kitchen through custom designed pivoting doors, and flooring materials define the separation between the two spaces.

All the perimeter offices feature glass wall fronts, and an upgraded lighting package with motion sensors and daylight harvesting capabilities provides more light for the open office spaces at the interior of the space.  The lighting package also captures the efficiencies required by the new Title 24 regulations.  The complete demolition and renovation took a total of 15 weeks.
