Project Description

Jones Day has had a presence in Los Angeles since 1973, when it opened its first office. Now with 39 offices worldwide, Jones Day has grown into a premier international law firm. To update its flagship office in Los Angeles, Jones Day teamed with Gensler and Howard Building Corporation to create an award winning design for its 185,000 square foot space.

The six story office includes two executive floors with elevated ceiling heights, cove and recessed lighting features, and architectural soffit details. Inlaid carpet defines feature seating and meeting areas, and stone flooring extends through all of the high profile spaces. Extensive use of wood paneling throughout the space creates a rich backdrop for private offices, conference rooms, and workstations. Floor to ceiling glass partitions at conference rooms allow a view through the space to an impressive outside panorama from the top floors of the 52 story building.

An impressive glass, stainless steel and stone stairway connects the two executive floors, and a cascading glass sculpture suspended from the ceiling above the staircase creates a stunning visual focal point in the two story atrium. Other features of the office include a fully equipped conference center with an automated retractable partition for reconfiguring the space, a data center, and a large dedicated condensed filing system for storing documents.
