Project Description

Known for its docudrama style shows like American Chopper and Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe, Pilgrim Films & Television provides content to networks like Discovery, HISTORY, Syfy, Lifetime, OWN, Animal Planet, WE tv and National Geographic Channel. When it engaged Pollack Architecture (now known as RAPT Studios) to design their headquarters, it challenged the firm to find a budget conscious solution for designing a densely planned office and production space. Howard Building Corporation worked closely with the architect to provide construction solutions that helped the project stay within the stringent budget requirements.

A large scale graphic across the main conference room's glass wall announces the company to visitors, and a feature wall inside the conference room displays floating white squares with logos of all of the networks the company has provided with content. Exposed ceilings and polished concrete floors in the open work areas give the sense of a creative space, while applied wall graphics in smaller interior work rooms provide whimsical detail. Recording bays, production studios and server rooms occupy compact, efficiently designed spaces, and glass fronted conference rooms provide transparency in the dense layout. The entire operation, including over 100 offices, fits into a 32,000 square foot space.
